Using Blogs for Opt-in Email Lists
The web is a constant source of revenue if you know how to use it to your advantage. Internet marketing has come a long way since those infant days of simple ad banners. Now there are a number of ways you can market your product or service online.
SEO, or search engine optimized, articles and website content are great ways to get your site listed in the results of customer searches. But with the ever changing guidelines about keyword density and the cost of hiring a good SEO trained copywriter, you may be a bit burnt out on the SEO method.
Of course, pay per click advertising is another way to generate income, but again, the popular keywords are costly. But what if you could draw eyeballs to your site with the promise of relevant content and useful information? That is exactly what you can do with a blog. Blogs are fast becoming the preferred way for internet savvy folks to get their daily news and updates on their topics of interest. Pack your daily blog (short for web log) with pertinent information on a targeted subject.
Say you provide some sort of financial service. Your blog should be centered around a popular financial topic of use to your potential clients. You might start a blog that deal daily with issues of consumer credit, insurance matters, common tax tips and questions, or other topics that a large number of people who would use your service would be interested in. The free information will draw people to your site when they search. If someone types in tax tips, you blog will eventually come up on their results page.
Better yet, the more people who view your blog, the more links they will establish to journal entries or articles of interest to them and their site viewers. This popularity will send more and more people to your site who will then consider the service you have to offer.
To further tailor your potential client views, try establishing an opt in list for your blog. This creates an email list of people who are interested in the topic you address. Each day or week when you update your blog, the people who opt in to the list will receive the latest entry. This not only spreads the word on your expertise and services, but it also keeps your brand fresh in people’s minds. When they think of financial services such as tax tips or insurance or whatever other topic you cover in your blog, they will think of your company. You cannot buy brand association better than that.
Do not forget that you can also include in your blog and email listings any information pertinent to your company or website. If you update the site with a new financial calculator, let people know and watch them come back to view what you have to offer. Also tell people about staff changes, website technology updates, and improved content. With nothing but an online journal, you can create a foundation of loyal, returning visitors.
