‘Did Google Inadvertently Created a Protection Racket Called the Penguin Update?’ – ‘Business 2 Community’ Article
The latest article on ‘Business 2 Community’ is titled “Did Google Inadvertently Created a Protection Racket Called the Penguin Update?”.
Matt Wilson says, “You’ve heard the news by now, I’m sure; Google released an update to their algorithm in April 2012 called Penguin, then a fresh update in May 2013 called Penguin 2.0 and the implications are that anyone who has participated in manipulative link building is at risk of losing keyword ranking and traffic.
There’s only one way to protect your website from Penguin damage and that’s to clean up the links pointing at your site. Any links on low quality sites where the linking anchor text is a ‘commercial’ or ‘money’ keyword (such as Oak Furniture) needs to be removed before Google spots them and issues a Manual Action warning in Webmaster Tools”.
