The latest post on ‘Mashable’ is titled “Facebook Tweaks Algorithm for Ads in the News Feed”.

Todd Wasserman says, “Aiming to let marketers deliver more relevant ads in the News Feed, Facebook on Friday announced it was tweaking the algorithm behind such placements.

“For marketers, this means we are showing ads to the people who might want to see them the most,” the company wrote in a blog post. “For example, if someone always hides ads for electronics, we will reduce the number of those types of ads that we show to them.”

Such logical linkage appears self evident. However, the intent of Facebook’s post appears to be as a preemptive move so that advertisers won’t complain about the occasional odd placement over the coming weeks.
