Amazon.com has launched Alexa Web Information Service where developers can find more than hundred terabytes of Web site information.
Amazon.com has launched Alexa Web Information Service, a huge repository of information about the Web where developers can get data for creating innovating applications.
The Alexa Web Information Service offers the following functions :
1. URL Information : This function gives direct access to information related to Web pages and sites on the Web that are gathered by Alexa.
2. Web Search : This function is a search index based on Alexa’s extensive Web crawl. The format for the search query is similar to a Google search which allows about 1,000 results per page.
3. Browse Category : This function permits developers to access all the information available in the Open Directory without having to download the directory database in their systems.
4. Web Map : This function gives access to all the links relates to a particular URL. When the user inputs an URL, this function will give the links-in and links-out from that URL.
