Google’s updated privacy policy has a short, one-page “highlights” notice summarizing the privacy practices and more details in the full-text privacy policy and FAQs.

Google has updated the privacy policy and it has two important features: “Highlights” notice summarizing the privacy practices and more details about the privacy policies in the full-text and frequently asked questions.

“First, we created a short, one-page “highlights” notice summarizing our privacy practices. We hope this is easy to digest and understand at a glance.

Second, we provided even more detail about our privacy practices in the full-text privacy policy and lots more detail in the accompanying FAQs. The goal of both is to help you make informed choices about using our services”. [source]

Information Google collects and how they use it includes:

Information provided while logging in to Google Account,

Google cookies, a small file containing a string of characters, that Google sends to the user’s computer to uniquely identify that browser,

Log information, information automatically recorded by Google servers such as web request, Internet Protocol address, browser type, browser language, the date and time of request and one or more cookies that may uniquely identify the browser.

User communications, affiliate sites, links and other sites are also included in the highlights.

Google assures the users, “If Google becomes involved in a merger, acquisition, or any form of sale of some or all of its assets, we will provide notice before personal information is transferred and becomes subject to a different privacy policy”. [source]
