ComScrore has released a research on the reach of internet video and audio among different age groups in the US.


ComScrore, in association with StreamingMedia.com has released a research on the reach of internet video and audio among different age groups in the US, titled “State of the Consumer Streaming Market.”

According to the research, consumers belonging to the age group of 35-54 were responsible for almost 45% of all the videos viewed. Consumers belonging to this age group were 20% more probable to watch online videos than the average Internet user.

The research also found that consumers belonging to the age group 25-24 were 12% more probable to watch an audio/video stream online.

The report was based on a cross-section of over 1.5 million US consumers. The study was based on tracking their internet usage and browsing behavior, including audio and video consumption.

Other main findings from the research were:

More than 60% of the online population in the US consume online digital media in a given month.
Almost two-thirds of the internet population in August streamed audio/video through an internet portal.
50% of this population did so from an entertainment site.
