Yahoo has acquired del.icio.us, a content bidding website. Del.icio.us allows users to bookmark and save content which they can tag with keywords and share with others.

Joshua Schachter, the founder of Del.icio.us, said, “We are joining forces to build my vision of creating a way for people to remember things together. It is a shared memory site.” [Source]

Del.icio.us has nine employees. Some of del.icio.us’s venture backers are Union Square Capital, Amazon.com, and BV Capital.

Jeremy Zawodny, an engineer in Yahoo’s search group, said, “Just like we’ve done with Flickr, we plan to give del.icio.us the resources, support, and room it needs to continue growing the service and community.” [Source]
