Yahoo! will display shorter descriptions for Sponsored Search listings. The search listings will be automatically shortened when they are displayed on Yahoo!.
Yahoo also suggests that if the advertiser wishes to optimize their listings for Yahoo, they should begin their description with a short sentence which includes their keyword and focusses on the most important information in the first 70 characters.
“Most of our partners, including MSN, CNN, ESPN and Infospace, will still display longer descriptions for your Sponsored Search listings, though the exact length may vary from partner to partner.” [Source]
