Online Advertising Market to Reach $16.6 Billion in 2006
The online advertising market will reach $16.6 billion in 2006. There will be a 32% increase from 2005.
Credit Suisse First Boston has predicted that the online advertising market will reach $16.6 billion in 2006. There will be a 32% increase from 2005.
CSFB has also predicted that sale of online ads which contain animation, sound or interactive features will increase 66% in 2006.
Mary Baglivo, CEO of Saatchi & Saatchi, said, We’re seeing a shift to a more diverse set of media choices. Certainly a move away from what had traditionally over the years been the vast majority television and print.” [Source]
50% of ad executives who participated in the CSFB survey said they would increase their Internet spending by 30% in 2006.
CSFB also predicted that sponsored links next to search results and graphical display ads will remain the most popular types of online ads in 2006. Display ads will be the slowest growing ad type in 2006, with the increase in spending on animated and “rich-media” ads.
Nate Elliot, Jupiter Research analyst, said, “Video is the most compelling and emotive creative medium available for advertisers. It does the best job of creating emotion.” [Source]
