Daniel J. Lin pleaded guilty to three felony charges, two of which are fraud charges involving unsolicited spam emails sent to computer users. He is scheduled to be sentenced on May 16.

He is scheduled to be sentenced on May 16. He is facing five years in prison and a fine of around $250,000.

Court papers identified Daniel J. Lin, James J. Lin, Chris Chung, and Mark M. Sadek as part of the illegal spam scheme.

“Court papers described a complex web of corporate identities, bank accounts and electronic storefronts used to send hundreds of thousands of e-mail sales pitches for fraudulent weight-loss and erectile dysfunction products.” [Source]

The FTC said that consumers had sent more than 490,000 emails from the operation to authorities from January to April 2004.

Charges against James J. Lin, Chris Chung, and Mark M. Sadek have been dismissed.
