AskJeeves has launched Ask Deutschland (Germany) in Beta.

Ask Deutschland includes MeinAsk, Binoculars, Family filter, Page Translation and Bloglines Notifier features.

The MeinAsk feature allows users to save search results.

The Binoculars feature is a site preview tool.

The Family Filter feature is used to protect underage computer users from viewing restricted content.

The Page Translation feature translates English-language pages into German.

The Bloglines Notifier alerts Bloglines users of unread feeds in the user’s account from the Ask Deutschland homepage.

Malte Krueger, business development director, Ask Deutschland, said: “As the German search market grows, we believe that Ask Deutschland will be among the top players in the industry.

Backed by Ask Jeeves search technology, the new site will offer more of what Internet users are looking for, from finding information on news, weather and entertainment to browsing the best shopping and travel sites.” [Source]

The site offers options to search for pages that are only from Germany, pages only in German language or the entire web.

The site utilizes Ask Jeeve’s algorithmic search ranking. It clusters the web into topic areas.
