Ipsos Public Affairs survey in December 2005 found that broadband is the preferred access technology for majority of internet users.

According to the The Yankee Group estimates the dial-up will gradually decline through the rest of the decade and will represent less than 30% of all households with Internet access. Broadband will gain not only from dial-up’s decline, but also from new subscribers.

“More than 30% of consumers say that they just don’t want broadband, and about 14% say they feel dial-up is adequate for their needs. Less than 10% are not able to get broadband access in their area”. [source]
