The U.S retail ecommerce sales for the fourth quarter of 2005 increased 3.3% to $22.9 billion, according to a report by the Department of Commerce. The fourth quarter 2005 estimates increased 23% compared to the fourth quarter of 2004.

The estimate of U.S ecommerce sales for the fourth quarter 2005 was $26.5 billion on a not adjusted basis, a 27.5% increase from the third quarter of 2005.

Total ecommerce sales for 2005 was $86.3 billion, a 24.6% increase from 2004.

Ecommerce sales in 2005 accounted for 2.3% of the total sales. Ecommerce sales in 2004 accounted for 2% of total sales.
