The report says: “Confirmation that podcast advertising is set to become a significant business has come in recent months with the launch of several companies devoted to bringing podcasters and advertisers together.” [Source]

eMarketer estimates that currently there are 3 million active podcast listeners in the U.S.

Mike Chapman, editorial director of eMarketer and author of the report, said: “Podcasting is not set to become a new mass-market venue, at least for the next half decade. By way of comparison, US broadcast radio still reaches close to 200 million Americans” [Source]
