60% of Business to Consumer marketers have used the single-opt-in method of email address gathering. 7% have used double opt-in method, where registrants must respond to the confirmation email to stay on the list, according to a study by Direct.
Other findings of the study by Direct and Multichannel Merchant include:
39% of Business to Business marketers and 7% of Business to Consumer marketers have formal permission practices in place for collecting email addresses.
26% of business marketers used the single opt-in method, and only 3% used double opt in.
Multichannel Merchant and Multichannel Merchant have conducted this study on email marketing.
