Stuart McClure, senior vice president of global threats at McAfee, said: “The new Web site is a substantial improvement it isn’t just a face-lift; but a complete overhaul of the content, user interface and backend architecture.
Through the new Threat Center, consumers and businesses alike can access a simplified, single portal backed by McAfee AVERT Labs’ world-class malicious code, anti-virus, vulnerability research and general threat expertise. Here, they will find the tools they need to learn and react more rapidly to evolving threats.” [Source]
McAfee Threat Center also provides free tools, including free system checking and removal of malware, DAT signature file status, and malware submissions.
McAfee Threat Center also provides AVERT Virus Alerts. AVERT Virus Alerts is an opt-in section. It is a free subscription service which distributes email updates to subscribers on the latest information about new or existing threats.
