Yahoo! has appointed Ash Patel as its Chief Product Officer. He will be responsible for global product strategy development, identifying future trends and emerging technologies.


Yahoo! has appointed Ash Patel as its Chief Product Officer. He will be responsible for global product strategy development, identifying future trends and emerging technologies.

As part of his new role, Patel will work for Yahoo!’s centralized services groups. He will also work for network and community services, editorial and policy, and user experience and design.

Ash Patel said: “During my tenure at Yahoo!, I’ve had the privilege of working with some of the most talented individuals in the industry to develop technologies that have become essential to consumers’ lives”.

He added, “In my new role as CPO, I look forward to continuing to collaborate with the team to drive the evolution of Yahoo!’s innovative services that will help define the next stage of the Internet”.

Dan Rosensweig, Chief Operating Officer of Yahoo! Said: “Ash brings the technical expertise and product vision that will ensure the continued excellence and expansion of Yahoo!’s product portfolio”.

Ash Patel joined Yahoo! in 1996. Previously he was Senior Vice President of platform engineering at Yahoo!. He is a major contributor to the creation of My Yahoo!.

Patel is a Bachelor of Science with honors in Computer Science from the Kings College University of London.
