The results revealed that the average political blog reader was a 43 years old man, with an annual family income of $80,000. The average political blog reader read around 6 blogs a day for 10 hours a week.
39% of the readers had a post graduate degree, 70% have contributed to a campaign, 69% have bought music online, 87% have bought books online.
58% of these respondents said blogs are “extremely useful” as a source of information. 52% said they leave comments on others’ blogs. 18% of political blog readers had their own blog. Out of this, 53% used their blogs to keep track of their own ideas, 50% used it to vent their anger, 36% used it to influence public opinion.
The average gossip blog reader was a 27 year old woman, with an annual family income of $60,000. The average gossip blog reader read 4 blogs a day, five hours a week. 17% of these had post graduate degrees, 68% bought clothes online in the last six months, 63% bought music online.
32% of these respondents said blogs are “extremely useful” as a source of information. 42% said they leave comments on others’ blogs. 89% said they listen to atleast one podcast a week. 86% read blogs for humor. Out of the 23% gossip blog readers who also blog, 61% said they do it to keep track of their own ideas and 55% said they do it to vent anger.
The average mom blog reader was a 29 year old woman, with an annual family income of $70,000. They read 5 blogs a day for 4 hours a week. 26% had post graduate degrees, 72% have bought clothes online in the past six months, 83% have bought books online and 71% have bought music. 44% have contributed to a campaign.
57% leave comments on others’ blogs, 93% read blogs for humor. 48% have their own blog. Out of these, 73% said they do it to keep track of their thoughts and 54% said they do it to vent anger.
The average music blog reader was a 26 year old man, with an annual family income of $60,000. They read 5 blogs a day for 4 hours a week. 69% said they read blogs for humor and 55% for the news they are unable to find anywhere else.
41% had their own blog, and 58% did it to keep track of their own thoughts. 38% said they do it to vent anger.
