Skype has announced that it has registered over 100 million users worldwide. Skype had 54 million members when it was bought by eBay for $2.6 billion in September 2005.

Skype is a VOIP provider that lets users download software to make free PC to PC calls. Users can also subscribe for the paid service to make or receive calls from regular phones.
On Friday, Skype reported that it had 5.9 million users logged in.
