How your subscriber list can boost your affiliate profits

Every affiliate understands the importance of building a solid opt-in list of subscribers, but how you use that list can make a huge difference in the size of your monthly commission checks.

After all, creating a list of subscribers is just the beginning. The ultimate goal of any successful affiliate program is to get those subscribers to take the intended action – clicking your affiliate link and providing business for your affiliated merchants (and profits for you).

If you do not know how to use your subscriber list, and convert it into your most valuable asset, you will not succeed as an affiliate.

Using your subscriber list the wrong way could mean missing out on tens of thousands of dollars in affiliate income.
Affiliates put lots of time, effort and money into building their subscriber list, so it just makes sense to protect that valuable asset and turn it into a powerful money making machine. It is important to keep several things in mind when taking good care of your subscriber list.

Provide real value to the members of your list
Those affiliates who fail to see the importance of providing genuine, valuable content to their list subscribers will be left behind by more savvy affiliates. If you do not provide consistent, genuine value to members of your subscriber list, there are only two possible outcomes:

1. They will unsubscribe, and your once hefty opt-in list will dwindle

2. They will simply stop reading your emails, and no affiliate can make money with affliliate links that end up in the trash folder.

It is important for every affiliate to understand that there are many, many lists out there, and if you fail to deliver the goods to your subscribers, someone else will. No affiliate can afford to overlook the importance of providing valuable content to list members.

When providing valuable content, it is important to provide solid original content. While it is fine to reprint another author’s content from time to time, it is vital for every list owner to provide his or her own content. After all, they signed up for your list, and they want to hear from you about the subjects they find most important.

If you are not a writer, do not despair. It is possible to buy original content to which you can attach your name as the author. The way to do this is to buy private label articles from a web site like http://www.YourOwnArticles.com. The importance of these private label articles cannot be overstated. If you do not write your own content, be sure to buy private label articles to provide the content your subscribers are expecting from you.

Of course, it is not enough that your content be original. After all, original, boring content will still prompt your subscriber list members to hit the unsubscribe or delete button. It is important that the content you provide, either through articles you write or articles you buy, is useful to your list subscribers, and relevant to the subject in which they expressed an interest when they subscribed.

It is also important that the subjects of the mailings be relevant to the affiliate link they contain. For instance, articles about hunting would contain an affiliate link to a merchant partner who sells hunting clothes or other hunting accessories.

It has been said many times, but it bears repeating here. When it comes to the internet, content is king, and it is likely to remain the ruler of the realm for some time to come. It is important to understand what motivated your opt-in list subscribers to subscribe in the first place.

They came to you in search of interesting, useful content, and providing that content is the best way to protect this valuable asset, and make it into your number one money making asset.
