The findings of comscore’s study include:
– 52% of heavy gamers and 56% of light/medium gamers have no objection for in-game advertising
– 23% of heavy gamers and 11% of light/medium gamers are familiar with in-game ads.
– 23% of heavy gamers and 30% of light/medium gamers have never heard of in-game ads.
– 33% of heavy gamers and 23% of light/medium gamers are willing to play games with advertisements.
– 17% of heavy gamers and 9% of light/medium gamers said that the in-game ad motivates them to buy the advertised product.
Erin Hunter, senior vice president of comScore entertainment solutions, said: “Gamers are networked and vocal about what they like and don’t like, and the results of comScore’s study reveal that the vast majority of Gamers are not bothered by in-game advertising.” [source]
