Google Holds 50% Searches in April
In April, 50% of all searches were made on Google. Yahoo received 22% of searchers and MSN got 11%, according to Nielsen//NetRatings.
In April, 50% of all searches were made on Google. Yahoo received 22% of searchers and MSN got 11%, according to Nielsen//NetRatings.
Other findings of Nielsen//NetRatings include:
– Google received 2,655,649 searchers with 34% year-over-year growth
– Yahoo recieved 1,169,109 searchers with 27% year-over-year growth
– MSN received 570,080 searchers with 10% year-over-year growth.
More and more consumers are connecting with retail stores via search engines, according to Nielsen//NetRatings.
Michael Lanz, vice president, search industry solutions, Nielsen//NetRating, said: “We can continue to expect new features, improved functionality and rewards programs from the top search providers as they compete to win consumers’ loyalty. There is also opportunity for smaller providers to fulfill targeted search needs”. [source]
