Google has added a new SMS feature to orkut. orkut SMS will be available to orkut members in Brazil who use Claro as their mobile service provider, according to Pedram Keyani, Software Engineer, Google.

With orkut’s new SMS feature, Brazilian users will be able to scrap their friends, look up their contact information and receive scrap notifications.

Google is also planning to provide the new orkut SMS feature worldwide.
