II. Feature Article – Combining Hub Pages With Article Marketing

There is yet another content creation web site emerging called “Hub Pages”. A Hub includes an article you write, plus optional elements such as text, pictures, videos and links that you design. A Squidoo Lens focuses on a “topic”. Hub Pages focus on “articles”.

I recommend you drill down the topics of interest to your target market until you get down to a narrow list. For instance, I have a web site about spirituality. Rather than write an article about spirituality, I narrow down the topics to reincarnation, spiritualists and mediums, specific religions, etc. Then I would write an original article on that topic. After the article is finished I would add pictures and links to my site.

Once your Hub is completed, you can promote it to social networking sites, Search Engines, blogs and more as a unique resource. You won’t be doing any selling on your Hub but you will use your Hub to further establish you as an expert and to drive traffic to your web sites through linking.

After creating a number of related Hubs, you can organize them so that visitors can move through them easily. To do this you will create a group on your overall topic and give it an appropriate name. You will then assign your Hubs to this group. When completed your group will be displayed on the included Hubs in a box that shows the page the visitor is currently viewing and arrows to move back and forth among Hubs in the group.

The organization behind Hub Pages does want users to create original articles that do not include any kind of keyword spamming. They have a rating feature they use based on the quality of your content so be sure to only create something interesting and unique.

Hub Pages offers a royalty system whereby it shares advertising impressions on your Hubs. You will sign up for your own affiliate accounts with Google, eBay and Amazon. Google will display ads on your Hubs and eBay and Amazon will display featured products. Any revenue generated during one of your impressions (a click-through with Google, an actual purchase with Amazon or eBay) belongs to you.

Hub Pages offers a great opportunity for article marketers who do not have their own site or who want to promote an affiliate product. Your only investment is the time it takes to create a unique article and to design the page. Search Engines love unique content and will likely reward all article marketers who use Hub Pages by sending lots of traffic to their hubs. Use this traffic to pre-sell visitors on your knowledge and expertise and then send visitors on to your web site if you have one.

III. Feature Review – Article Success Strategies

The author of this e-book, Justin Brown, is from the U.K. Justin began marketing on the Internet with an e-commerce site. He then turned his attention to using Google AdSense, affiliate marketing, and product creation and promotion to make money.

With Article Success Strategies, Justin has produced another e-book on the virtues of marketing with articles, but he offers some useful new insights about this marketing approach. He is a firm believer that the technique will never die out for several reasons.

“¢ It’s easy to replicate “¢ Most Internet users are looking for information “¢ It is a low-cost or even no-cost marketing method “¢ Once an article is published, it requires no maintenance “¢ Anyone can use article marketing “¢ It works for any niche “¢ It’s one of the best ways to build opt-in lists that actually convert visitors to subscribers

Justin begins by addressing the two basic concerns of people who are starting out with article marketing:

“¢ How can anyone find the time to write unique articles? “¢ Where can marketers find ideas for articles?

While mentioning the use of private label articles (PLR) and the services of ghostwriters, Justin focuses chiefly on how you, yourself, can write interesting articles with a minimum of effort and maximum of return.

Justin is especially strong when giving tips to beginning writers about where and how to find ideas. He emphasizes writing about things you know and topics about which you are passionate. He suggests visiting discussion sites such as Google Groups and Yahoo Groups to discover what topics are being talked about and what questions people need answered about specific topics. Justin recommends checking out Yahoo Answers, which lets you see questions being asked by “real people”. He makes an interesting point by noting that the people who ask these questions have probably already tried to find answers via a Search Engine, meaning that there are doubtless many others out in cyberspace just waiting to be attracted to your articles on the topic.

Justin is adamant that new writers learn about and avoid the most common mistake made by article marketers. This involves poor keyword research and targeting. He suggests using a site like NicheBOT to find a keyword around which to write an article.

Justin also strongly emphasizes the requirements for writing good articles.

“¢ Correct spelling and grammar are of utmost importance

“¢ Selection of an attention-grabbing title for your article – one that includes the keyword you want to target

“¢ Confirm that all your hyperlinks are formatted correctly so that they are functional and do not appear “broken” in browsers

“¢ Pay attention to the word-count requirements imposed by article submission sites and follow them

Justin mentions a few tools that can make writing articles easier.

One is Instant Article Wizard Pro, which lets you write articles that can avoid duplicate-content filters. Article Post Robot makes it easy for you to submit your articles to a large number of directories. You can also use the expertise of an article-submission service to help in this area.

Finally, Justin issues some cautions about Search Engine Optimization (SEO) techniques. It is no longer enough to simply sprinkle your chosen keyword throughout an article. The major Search Engines like Google and Yahoo have developed sophisticated search algorithms that make this approach less successful. He suggests that article marketers read up on Latent Semantic Indexing (LSI) to see how things have changed.

This short e-book contains useful advice, links and examples for those who market with articles.

V. Article Submission Tips & Tricks – Do You Squidoo?

I am reading an excellent e-book about using Squidoo to make money. While reading I realized that Squidoo presents a unique opportunity for article marketers. You can create a Squidoo Lens for each topic of article you write and then add sections to sell affiliate products related to that topic such as e-books. If you write on one topic then you can create one Lens. It’s up to you. Google seems to love Squidoo, so if you do some keyword search and use the keywords in the Lens title and in the Lens then chances are you will rank well for those keywords.

Squidoo is easy to use and promote. Take a stroll over and start a Lens for yourself and your business today!

  Bonnie Jo Davis

I am a Virtual Assistant providing many services to my clients. My favorite service is article submissions. I submit articles for my clients every day and have been doing so for almost nine years.

This technique worked so well that we put other expensive marketing projects on hold so that my speaker could travel all over the world on paid speaking engagements.

Over time I discovered this amazing technique will work for people who do not consider themselves writers. It will work in print and on-line. It will work if your topic is spirituality, hobbies, family, the internet, marketing, business, etc. You name it, the possibilities are limitless! I went on to make more than 70% of my income by handling article submission projects for other professionals.
