What happened to the hotsheet?

You don’t see these much anymore.

I remember the first time I moved away from home at age 18. I decided to move to another state and ended up 5 minutes away from a horse racing track. Every convenient store I went to had a complimentary hotsheet with the picks of the day. At the end of the hotsheet, there was a number you could call and subscribe to a picks service for a low monthly fee. Other hotsheets listed a paid 900# you could call.

Today, the idea of hotsheets has morphed into $7 reports and ‘small reports’. Both of which really miss the point in my opinion.

Hotsheet are meant to be gifted (unless it’s a paid hotsheet subscription like picks). Hotsheets are meant to prove you know what the hell you are talking about. Hotsheets are meant to be lead generators.

How many internet marketers print hotsheets with their best information and give it out at local small business events? How about mailing 1000 flyers to marketing seminar promoters to pass along as free giveaways? How about moving out of the ‘marketing’ world and print up a hotsheet on the best golf courses in the area with a 900# that will be a daily course conditions advisory service?

How about a hotsheet that gives the ‘best of’ local restaurants with an advisory service for wait times and the specials of the day?

How about a hotsheet on getting acclimated in a new area give those to local realtors to pass out and have a # listed at the bottom that will upsell them to entertainment books?

The list is endless, you just have to think.

My first hotsheet was sent out to the buyers of Project Black Mask and I included 3 kick-ass methods for making money. The purpose of this hotsheet was to incentivize and further affirm I know my shit.

Will you produce a hotsheet today?

Enjoy,

Woody
