I. From The Editor

Thank you for joining me for our July 2007 issue of ATSU. This month we discuss how to choose an article submission service and we also take a look at a free article marketing course.

My newest project is the blog “Small Business Reviews”. I absolutely love writing reviews and I wanted to use that passion to help small business owners and entrepreneurs. Feel free to visit and signup for my feed at Bonnie@ArticlesThatSell.com!

II. Feature Article – How To Choose An Article Submission Service

The majority of people I speak to about article marketing admit that it is actually the submission part of the process at which they get stuck.

It is time consuming and tedious to submit articles by hand or even with the help of software. Not everyone can handle such a thankless task, so I recommend you consider hiring a service to handle submissions for you.

There are many companies offering article submissions services, so how do you decide who to hire?

Do some due diligence and ask about the service in forums about article marketing, ask an article marketing expert for his/her recommendation, and insist on getting references from any company that you are considering.

It is critical that you ask the important questions before committing to a submission service. The list below includes the minimal questions you should ask before seriously considering a service.

1. Will they be using software or submitting by hand?
2. Do they offer complimentary proofreading or editing services?
3. Do they have references?
4. How long have they been in the article submission business?
5. How many sites do they submit to: newsgroups, directories, blogs and individual sites?
6. How much does their service cost and what kind of payments do they accept (credit cards, PayPal, checks)?
7. Do they offer a multiple article discount?
8. Are they willing to sign a contract?
9. How much time will the process take?
10. What do they need from you to get started?

Pay considerable attention to the reputation of article submission services. Google their names and follow links to see what other people think about them, call their references, and make sure that they do not spam submission sites with unsolicited submissions or off-topic topics.

There is no shame in hiring a submission service to handle the tedious task of submitting. Just be careful when you choose a service and keep in mind that a quality service will cost more but you do get what you pay for.

V. Article Submission Tips & Tricks – Visit Your Local Bookstore

I made an amazing discovery today. My son and I visited our local Borders and spent some time browsing. I spent the majority of time in topics of interest to me that pertain to my Internet businesses. I was astonished by the number of ideas I got for articles just by browsing and looking at books. Take a notepad with you the next time
you visit a bookstore (or library) and review some books on your topic … you’ll be surprised at how many article ideas you get!

  Bonnie Jo Davis

I am a Virtual Assistant providing many services to my clients. My favorite service is article submissions. I submit articles for my clients every day and have been doing so for almost nine years.

This technique worked so well that we put other expensive marketing projects on hold so that my speaker could travel all over the world on paid speaking engagements.

Over time I discovered this amazing technique will work for people who do not consider themselves writers. It will work in print and on-line. It will work if your topic is spirituality, hobbies, family, the internet, marketing, business, etc. You name it, the possibilities are limitless! I went on to make more than 70% of my income by handling article submission projects for other professionals.

*IMNewswatch would like to thank Bonnie Jo Davis for granting permission to reprint the latest newsletter.
