It’s An Instant World

We’re living in a World of “instant” everything. We’ve got instant news, broadcasting 24 hours a day. TIVO brings us our favorite programming on-demand, when WE want to watch. E-mail jumps instantly across the globe. Cellphones keep us connected instantly wherever we roam. Then there is instant dinner in the microwave and instant coffee.

The list goes on and on.

We who are fortunate enough to live in developed nations enjoy these instant amenities — and many more — as part of our daily lives. In fact, so much of our lives are instant that we’ve become, as a direct result, extremely impatient people.

We hate waiting for ANYTHING. We get agitated when traffic slows down (even though we can also zip along in our cars most any other time we wish). We get irritated when we have to wait in line (although most lines have been replaced by instant teller machines, self-serve gasoline pumps and checkout lanes at the grocery store — you name it). We prefer instant downloads to waiting for something to arrive in the mail.

You get the picture.

This is why, so often, anything with a promise of “instant wealth” seems to attract so many buyers these days. People MUST be buying this stuff … or it wouldn’t be offered by so many people, in so many ways.

It boggles my mind how anyone can honestly read a sales letter, online or offline, promising “instant wealth, for very little money, doing NO work” and buy what is being sold. To see the fallacy in this promise, just ask yourself: if someone is willing to charge you a small amount of money to do ALL the work for you and send you most of the money in return — why on earth don’t they simply do all the work and keep ALL the money for THEMSELVES?

The reality is, they’re making their money from your “small payment,” whatever amount that is. And, if they’re making their money from your small payment, the so-called “system” they’re offering to use, to make money FOR you, must not work!

If it seems I’m spending a lot of time on reality issues in this newsletter lately, it’s because I see so many of these issues rearing their ugly heads recently that they simply must be addressed. I’m sick and tired of seeing perfectly good people parted with their money with little or no hope of ever seeing a return.

The first, most important issue to address here is to realize that you need to keep your radar up, monitoring the pulse of what you’re reading. Study the sales messages, letters and offers you see. If they promise you instant wealth doing nothing — run away!

Instant wealth, itself, is a trouble sign. I don’t know of anything that can produce instant wealth beyond an inheritance, winning the lottery, or coming out on top of a divorce.

Even then, collecting that wealth can take some time. Lotteries don’t like paying you any sooner than over a 20-year period, for example.

Sure — there are ways to generate “nearly instant” money. I’ve made as much as $60,000 by conducting a single teleconference call. I’ve also generated more than $95,000 from a single stage presentation at a seminar. I’ve also seen more than $100,000 come in from sending out a single E-mail.

But, when I pull back the veil, we see that it wasn’t truly “instant” money. And — honestly — while receiving $100,000 fairly quickly is certainly nice, that still doesn’t qualify as wealth in today’s economy.

In each of the above “big money” instances, I indeed generated the amounts I said in the time stated. But — there was also a LOT of work, preparation and follow-up that went into making those sums. I had to prepare an outline and notify my list that I was holding a teleseminar, adding a full day or two to the process. I had to prepare a Power Point presentation, practice what I was going to say, then travel to and from the seminar, paying my own expenses out-of-pocket, to make those sales from the stage, adding up to a week and $1,000-2500 in expenses to the process. And, I had to build a list (over many years) to enable me to send that single E-mail — then I had to set up a Website for people to visit and create the product that I sold with that single E-mail, adding a LOT of effort and months and months to the sales that I eventually made.

This isn’t even counting the time and money that it takes to FULFILL the orders once the sales have been made.

Still, we’re all guilty of making such outlandish claims as “I generated more than $100,000 from a single E-mail, sent at the push of a button.” This in spite of the fact that we all know better.

Here’s the key:

Realize that wealth is built by building a BUSINESS. Most of the world’s wealthiest people today acquired their wealth by owning a business. But, building a business takes TIME. You create wealth in a business by building a plan you can follow to GROW revenue, slowly, over time, that eventually accumulates, creating true wealth.

I’m talking about 2-5 years here.

Another road: carefully construct a HUGE blowout promotion surrounding a unique product or course that you’ve created and sell $1,000,000 or more of it FAST. Then, re-invest most of this money into your business, so it can leap-frog its way to building real wealth for you over the next year or two.

All of this takes time, and effort. You have to lose your aversion to risk and go for it, and be willing to work some long hours to build and use the process.

I’m certain this isn’t the news you wanted to hear. But it’s the truth. It’s the way REAL wealth is created — and I want you to know the way it’s really done, so I’m willing to be the bearer of bad news, if that’s what it takes.

To truly take your business into wealth-creation levels, also consider the instant nature of our society. Ask yourself: what can you do to meet this need for instant gratification? Can you ship faster? Deliver quicker? Offer support and help on demand?

The more “instant” your business is in the eyes of your customers, the easier it will be to attract new customers and hold them, growing your business quickly.

NOT instantly. But, steady, reliable growth is never bad, is it? Especially not if the work required is easy and fun.

I dug around this week and found you a gift you won’t soon forget. How about easily $1,000 worth of absolutely no-charge coaching from a bonafide expert at building businesses? Someone CEOs of Fortune 100 companies routinely pay $10,000 a day for his advice? How about a recording of me interviewing this man for more than an hour PLUS an amazing offer to have him talk to you and answer your most pressing questions, one-on-one, for a solid hour, too?

That makes this gift actually worth $2,000. But who’s counting?

Check this out! The only way to take advantage of this amazing chance at some incredible advice and assistance is to listen to my entire interview with Paul Lemberg, author of the brand new McGraw-Hill best-seller, Be Unreasonable: The Unconventional Way to Extraordinary Business Results.

Listen with pen in hand. You’ll WANT to take notes! You’ll want to write down Paul’s extraordinary no-obligation offer, too — so you can avail yourself of some of his super-valuable time at no cost to you. You might even say Paul made an offer that’s totally “Unreasonable!” Take him up on it, before he changes his mind!

But wait! There’s MORE!

This week, I come to you ARMED TO THE TEETH with gifts. Toward that goal, I’m also bringing you the opportunity to jump on a very special book launch promotion where you can literally grab more than a thousand dollars worth of amazing no-cost goodies (many never before offered in any promotion), just for buying a book that will help you generate huge mounds of cash for yourself.

This is like priming the wealth pump with free goodies before you read a book that will put any goodies you want right into your hands from now on. VERY special, indeed.

And, finally, there’s STILL MORE!

Last night, Lori Steffen, Jeff Wark and I held the first-ever official meeting of The Franklin Guild, our new community for content creators (information products, information marketing, newsletter and E-book publishing, blogging, podcasting — you name it).

This was a members-only meeting where we went over some of the amazing entrepreneural ideas and strategies that Benjamin Franklin himself utilized during his lifetime (leading us to pattern our entire community after him). We also announced a BUNCH of new guest faculty members who will be joining us and we went over the basic outline of how the group will operate and what every member will get just by joining.

You really should already be a member. We plan to grow The Franklin Guld into something so huge that it holds the World’s Record for being the largest true mastermind ever formed.

Good news! I recorded the call last night and, because you’re a loyal reader, I’ll let you listen in with no obligation.

Here’s where you can hear the entire recording yourself: http://www.instantteleseminar.com/?eventid=813360

Then, visit here to sign up NOW, before our $1 trial offer goes away FOREVER! http://www.FranklinGuild.com

Still not sure? Visit The Franklin Guild’s official blog and get involved — THEN sign up before October 1: http://www.TheFranklinGuild.com

That’s enough. My Santa bag is empty — for now.

But, stay tuned. I’ll be back next week and, most likely, I’ll be toting more gifts along with me. I usually do!

See you then.
