II. Feature Article ““ Maximizing Article Mileage

Running short on time to write new article? Aren’t we all! It would be fantastic if we could take one great, original article and use it over and over, with successful results, wouldn’t it? Good news here, you CAN take an original article you’ve written and rewrite it several times. By reshaping your article to shift the focus towards various target audiences, you stand to gain additional exposure to and credibility in diverse markets as an expert. And as you already know, increased exposure and stronger credibility leads to new clients and/or customers, and increased sales.

But, how do you reshape an article you’ve written so you can use it to target different audiences? Simple … don’t think only about your current clients and/or customers who already buy your products and/or services. Give some serious thought to other people who would be interested in doing business with you, if only you can present yourself and your company as someone who can offer them significant value.

For instance, you sell shoes and you’ve written an excellent article about how shoes have evolved over the years. You can take that same article and redirect the focus so that it has considerable appeal to several specific groups of people. Just by thinking about all the different types of shoes you sell, you’ll see quickly that you can rewrite your article in multiple ways to reach many readers. You can rework that one article to target people who wear cowboy boots, or construction workers who wear industrial type shoes, or athletic shoes, etc., and the list goes
on. Add content discussing the importance of proper fit and size. You can even add a little background on some of the brands you sell, not a direct sales pitch, but a brief, positive review.
Later, you can rewrite the same article again to reach an entirely different audience by shifting the emphasis to the various styles worn by women during certain decades. Now, that’s a definite mileage increase from just one article!

Great, you say … if you sell products. But what if you sell services? It works the same way. Think beyond your current clients and/or customers to consider other prospects. So, if you’re a massage therapist and you’re written a general article on how therapeutic massage is beneficial to busy, corporate types, how do you rewrite it to appeal to different audiences? This should be an easy task. In today’s market, people in all walks of life are increasingly interested in services that make their lives easier, especially those that make them feel pampered. You can redirect the focus of that one article to appeal directly to mom’s, teachers, athletes, health and fitness enthusiasts, and again, the list continues. Later, rewrite your article so that it has appeal to those interested in holistic health by presenting massage as a physical and spiritual alternative to mainstream treatments. See? It’s all about shifting the focus of your article to reach new target audiences that boosts your marketing mileage!

Rules of Thumb for Using Rewritten Articles:

* Always create a new title to appeal to the new audience you’re targeting.

* Convey a relevant message to the new audience in the 1st paragraph.

* Don’t layout subsequent paragraphs the same as in your original article.

* Draft a new article summary, again conveying a relevant message to the new audience.

* Use a different resource box that gives you credibility with each new audience.

Once you’ve rewritten your article a couple of times, you’ll get into the swing of things, allowing you to rework your article fairly quickly. Make sure though, that you don’t simply change a word here and there, expecting your rewrite to be successful. Almost always, sites reject duplicate content, and just changing a word or two won’t camouflage an old article as a new one. You’ve got to actually rewrite the article which is genuinely easier than drafting an entirely new one.

Give it a try and rewrite one of your best articles. You’ve got absolutely nothing to lose and a significant amount of marketing mileage to gain!

  Bonnie Jo Davis

I am a Virtual Assistant providing many services to my clients. My favorite service is article submissions. I submit articles for my clients every day and have been doing so for almost nine years.

This technique worked so well that we put other expensive marketing projects on hold so that my speaker could travel all over the world on paid speaking engagements.

Over time I discovered this amazing technique will work for people who do not consider themselves writers. It will work in print and on-line. It will work if your topic is spirituality, hobbies, family, the internet, marketing, business, etc. You name it, the possibilities are limitless! I went on to make more than 70% of my income by handling article submission projects for other professionals.
