‘Try Outsourcing Your Next Information Product Idea’

Perhaps you have a great idea for putting together an information product but you just can’t seem to find the time to get it done. Sometimes even if you have the time, writing an information product can be a huge task to handle; There are times when it makes perfectly good sense to outsource part or even all of the project to a competent writer or virtual assistant.

I would like to give you a few tips to help you decide if you should outsource your information product creation ideas:

Never commit or make an offer to any writer without first asking to see samples of their work. Ask them to write a certain number of ‘test’ pages or perhaps even a chapter or two of your eBook before hiring them to complete the entire task. Of course, you will need to pay them for their efforts in the ‘test’ phase and if you aren’t 100% pleased with their efforts it will mean that you have lost some money, but it will be better for your project to find out early on in the process than after you have fully committed to hiring a ghost writer.

Their are several good online forums that you can visit and ask the members for some of their recommendations on writers. When visiting forums please keep in mind that everyone has their own opinion’s. I encourage you to listen to everyone, but don’t take what they say as the gospel. The forum members can be very informative and at least give you some names and ideas of who you can contact.

Maybe you don’t want to outsource the entire project. That is perfectly fine. What many people don’t realize is that you can outsource various parts of your project if you would like. Outsource the research portion of your project if you wish, or the outline, or even both the research and the outline. This is your project and it should be your call. The actual writing portion of the project is usually the most expensive, because it’s the most time consuming. This is good to know if you are on a strict budget. Think about outsourcing the research and the outline and do the actual writing yourself. You save a little money and you give the project your own unique personal touch.

Hiring a Virtual Assistant is another route than you can consider for outsourcing your research and outline. Again, I highly recommend you visit some online discussion forums and ask the members for some recommendations. Also you can do a Google search for ‘virtual assistants’. You should be able to locate a number of qualified virtual assistant services. I personally prefer to go the recommendation route when I’m working with people online that I won’t have the privilege of meeting face to face.

Two popular websites that you can visit are guru.com and elance.com. You can post the requirements for your project and different freelancers can bid on your project. In many cases you will have the opportunity to view some samples of a person’s work and read past reviews and feedback they have been given from previous customers.

Outsourcing your information product can be a great idea. If you have been holding back on getting started because you just haven’t had the time try outsourcing at least part of your information product idea to a qualified writer or virtual assistant.
