How To Avoid Bandwidth Bandits?

A number of files or web pages that are loaded to a web server that uses the internet bandwidth to perform files delivery along the network at various speeds are defined as web hosting bandwidth. Each time when you uploading a file to your web server, surf the web or use an audio and video application, you are using bandwidth.

Bandwidth is physically consist of a bunch of network wires or fiber optic cables connecting the servers to a network. Depending on the grade of the network wire installed, hence, it can determines how much data is coming across the network where your website is hosted. When someone trying to get more data than it can be handled by the network, the entire network will slows down very much.

Hosting provider can put a limitation on bandwidth at certain times during peak periods or charge you a flat fee per month for an amount of bandwidth you can use. If you exceeded the bandwidth you paid for it, then they charge you an additional fee that are being exceeded according to their standard rate. Some of the host provider will even temporary stopped the web transmissions until the entire traffic is become stable again on the network.

With the bandwidth you get, you are able to load most files (like images, audio files, videos, flash, scripts and other programs) onto your website.

In some cases, those Bandwidth bandits normally link up all images and other files directly to other server instead of placing them on their local server. There are several reasons as to why they do this but I am very sure the only one reason is to get them as much bandwidth as possible to show their links and images without downtime. Therefore they steal images or audio files each time the site is initialized, this means that they actually stealing the bandwidth.

In order to avoid this bad happening, there is certain ways that you can block the person from thieving your bandwidth allocation. If they have an email address, I would prefer to contact them in person or go through Network Solutions to do an IP lookup which will feed you all the information about the person and who the site is belongs to. At the end of the day, you can always get in touch with the company that hosted their site too.

Getting more bandwidth can be very costly and one last thing you should be taken care of is someone might be able to steal it. So, in conclusion, just take precaution and apply the safety prevention for what ever hosting account or bandwidth you may have in the future or currently.
