‘Use Audio to Create Your Next Information Product’

What is the first thing that pops into your head when I say the words “information product”?

I’ll bet you dollars to donuts you thought of an eBook. You aren’t alone. Most people would have answered the same way. What many people don’t realize is that audio and video have become popular media for creating, viewing, and listening to information products.

An information product is anything that provides the reader, viewer, or listener with information. One of the easiest ways for information product producers to deliver information is through audio. It just so happens that audio has become the preferred method for people seeking information.

Teleseminars and Audio Interviews are hot and this trend is not going to abate anytime soon!

Let’s take a look at this from an info product producers point of view:

Let’s pick something popular. Let’s say you want to create an audio product to help miniature schnauzer owners train their dogs. One of the first steps is to find someone who will interview YOU! This is your information product. You are the expert. It would be helpful if the person conducting the interview has experience in conducting interviews or teleseminars.

Over the course of the interview you will answer several questions miniature schnauzer owners are likely to have. Things like; What is the best way to train a pure-bred miniature schnauzer? What and how often should you feed your schnauzer? What are they best ways to exercise a miniature schnauzer? All you have to do is formulate answers to questions like these and provide other types of useful information for schnauzer owners during the interview.

Once the interview is over, you can get the audio transcribed into text. Now you have an audio interview with a text transcript. Package these two items together and sell it as a stand alone product. This isn’t bad at all for a few hours worth of work.

Heck, you can even go a little bit further and toss in some bonuses. Maybe a special report on “how to add years to your schnauzers life through exercise”. It doesn’t really matter what the bonus is as long as it is complementary to your main product. The idea behind a bonus is to add perceived value and yes even bulk to your main product.

A second way you can use audio to create your information product is to hold a teleseminar. Now, this is very closely related to the interview approach except there will actually be other people in attendance. Normally, there is a period of time near the end of the teleseminar where those attending your teleseminar can participate by asking you questions.

Normally, during a teleseminar you will provide information, offer tips, and answer questions. You are the EXPERT! The audience wants you to share your expert knowledge with them. Just like the interview, when the teleseminar is over it should be transcribed into a text version. Again, you can package the text version with the audio version as a stand alone information product.

Using audio to create interviews or teleseminars is a quick, easy, and highly effective way of producing high quality information products.
