Are You Blogging Yet?

by Alan Bechtold

Are you blogging yet? If not, why on earth why not? It’s perhaps the best way I know that anyone can easily create money from nothing more than some ideas and a bit of time and implementation.

Blogging has become so huge these days that major media now routinely interview bloggers or feature them as guests on news programs. These days, some blogs are actually breaking the stories the major media eventually picks up.

Where is your blog at this moment?

The targeted audience any decent blog can easily attract, and the natural position of influence successful bloggers find themselves occupying when they’ve built that audience, has also attracted the attention off major national advertisers. These companies are once again pouring millions of dollars into online advertising – often sponsoring blogs (even small ones if they’re influential over the right targeted group of people).

This sets up a perfect situation for anyone who “gets it,” launches a blog, then maintains and grows it:

* Blogs are free.
* Blogs are simple to set up and maintain.
* A thought or two posted every day works wonders.
* Your clients and prospects can interact with you.
* Your clients can interact with each other.
* Your clients’ interactions with you and the other readers will eventually provide much of your blog’s content for you.
* Search Engines love blogs.
* Search Engines drive traffic to blogs automatically.
* Traffic on a blog = a targeted audience.
* The blogger has influence over that targeted audience.
* Advertisers are seeking blogs with influence over a targeted audience.
* Advertisers make your blog hugely profitable.
* You can also sell your own products and affiliate products on your blogs and run AdSense ads from Google, to make money long before you attract the national advertising bucks.

It’s literally a can’t-lose situation!

Here’s how easy it really is:

I read a story recently about a photographer who now runs a very successful blog. It seems a friend of his emailed him one day, just barely a year ago. He had a question regarding setting up lighting for a special situation he was photographing.

Rather than write his friend an E-mail back, the photographer put up a blog and posted his friend’s question and his answer. Other people stumbled by and joined the conversation.

The photographer’s influence grew as did the audience.

Now this photographer’s blog, focused only on discussions about photographic lighting, is reportedly earning him a handsome six-figure income, because of the advertising from photographic lighting suppliers he now features on the blog.

And the readers provide a lot of the content presented in the blog.

Here’s how you do it:

* Go to www.blogger.com
* Set up a FREE blog.
* Think of a name for your blog.
* If you can’t think of a name, put YOUR name on your blog.
* Think about who you want to attract. This will be your targeted market.
* Write something that might interest your readers, once each day.
* Just post your thoughts about something of interest. Keep it simple.
* Respond to comments your readers post in a personable, honest way.
* If no one is commenting, try posting a few fake comments to get things started.

Does making money get any easier than this? How can you possibly go wrong here, besides not doing it?

You can do this in 15 minutes a day. 30 maximum. It’s as easy as posting in a diary – but you don’t reveal deep dark intimate secrets (unless that’s what you’re selling – in which case, throwing out a few free secrets on the blog is a great idea).

This is a tremendous opportunity that’s truly open to anyone.

Just write it like you would write an email to a friend. It doesn’t have to be any longer than one or two paragraphs. Or it can be as long as you feel like.

The only requirement is that you do it every day. Keep it up, no matter what, for at least three months. Six if you can hold out. Do it faithfully.

Maybe spend another half an hour, here and there, studying some more advanced blogging techniques, to obtain better Search Engine Optimization results and increase your traffic.

But, first you need to get up and walking. Before worrying about anything advanced or increasing your sales, get your blog rolling. A million times zero is still zero.

Get moving. Three months will pass by before you know it. Somewhere along the way, by the time that first 90 days are up, you can easily be making money from your blog through the addition of some banner ads for products and services through affiliate programs.

As soon as your blog’s online, also go to Google and apply to display Google AdSense ads on your blog. If you’re accepted (it’s free), Google will supply you with simple HTML code you can easily add to your blog that will display Google’s sponsored search ads on your site (related to your niche). Whenever a reader clicks on an ad – you earn a commission on the fee Google collected for the click.

I’ve seen some very profitable blogs earning the lion’s share of their money from Google AdSense ads alone.

All it takes is traffic coming to your blog. Over time, following the steps above, this will happen naturally. And there are dozens, if not hundreds of other ways to get people to visit and read your blog regularly.

When you have enough traffic, you can start putting major advertisers on your blog, too, for more bucks.

Then, as traffic to your blog rises, you can increase your advertising rates, generating growing, steady, automatically-renewed revenue.

All of this from a blog that costs you nothing to set up. And takes as little as 30 minutes a day to maintain (though, I must warn you, you’ll find yourself spending more and more time with your blog as it – and the money you earn – grows).

And it really is as easy as jotting an email to a friend. If you don’t believe me, start really studying some blogs on the Web. If you can’t think of anything to say, just point your readers to something cool you’ve found on the Web. Either way, do it daily and you’ll win the game.

Here’s something cool, just because you’re reading this:

I’m going to test the readership of this blog by offering the first five readers who respond to this article something worth $497 and really selling right now for $297 (but there are only three left at $297, as of this writing, then the price goes UP to $497 for everyone after that) … for free.

I’ve been handed five tickets to Ross Goldberg’s Internet Marketing Masters Seminar, in Chicago, Illinois July 18, 19 and 20, 2008. Yes, that’s just around the corner. Just one week away. But there’s still time to get there.

I urge you to consider making the decision to join me there as my guest.

Here’s a link to check out all the info about the 18 different Masters of Marketing that you’ll meet and learn from during this event (including me!). And the party planned for Saturday night. And all the other exciting stuff happening at this event:

Click HERE for ALL the Details About Ross Goldberg’s Marketing Masters Seminar

But – do not order there yet or you’ll have to pay (hey – it’s well worth many times the price but I’m literally handing you a chance to get into all this at no cost).

Then – remember that things happen for a reason. There’s a reason why you’re reading this blog, at this moment, at this point in my post. There’s a reason why you feel the impulse, after checking out all the details about this event, to book a flight, book a room, and spend the weekend filling your head with enough powerful tools and tactics to launch 100 small businesses.

And to get a chance to meet and get to know the 18 Masters of Marketing in person – plus the 100+ other attendees, many of whom are Masters of Marketing or successful entrepreneurs themselves.

Remember there is a reason for this. And give into the impulse. It could just be your gut telling you this is a tremendous opportunity you should not pass up.

Here’s the deal:

* Send me an email at: marketquest@sysop.com as soon as you read this.
* Make the subject line of that email I WANT A SEAT!!! (yes – all caps)
* Include your name in the email. Firstname, Lastname.
* If you’re fast enough to get one, I will send you an email with a special code to use on that Website about the event, to get a seat to Ross’ event at no charge!

Remember – this is only open to the first five people who respond. I’ll be watching to see that you use your code, too, because there really are only five seats I am allowed to give away. Please don’t request a code if you have no intention of coming to the event. You’ll actually be taking it away from someone else.

Make this your opportunity to get a seat and go this. Realize this is it. This is your chance to “sneak in” the back door as a special V.I.P. guest of one of the 18 Masters of Marketing that you’ll meet and get to know during this amazing weekend we’ll share together.

Don’t let anything stand in your way of this. It was obviously meant to happen – especially if you live in the Chicago area. Then you don’t even have the barrier of arranging travel holding you back.

I hope to see you in Chicago next week!
