How dedicated are you to success … really?

This is a question I have to ask my clients repeatedly. You can’t simply sit and wait for success. It takes a lot of action to make success happen, regardless of what success you’re seeking.

But – there is something else that’s required. The “missing ingredient” that makes a huge difference in the results you’ll see with every action you take.

I actually believe it’s the one thing that answers the ages-old question, “if it’s so easy, why isn’t everyone successful?”

First, you have to define success. Make this definition of yours your personal goal. Then, you have to picture it firmly in your mind – so firmly you can see, taste, hear, feel and smell what it’s like having it already.

This sets up a resonance within you that will then pull you toward success.

Just remember this is not the total secret. It might be The Secret, as in the book that’s taken the entire world by storm – but it’s not “the” secret I’m talking about.

I love The Secret. It’s an inspiring, motivational work of art. But – success doesn’t come from simply thinking about it or picturing it. Instead, you must create a mental image of you already successful and make the image so strong and so real that you’re drawn to it, pulled in such a way that you won’t let anything stand in your way of actually having it.

This will keep you motivated and dedicated to moving forward, almost as if you have blinders on and there is nothing you can think about or do that isn’t involved in one way or the other with reaching that visualized goal.

Then you still have to take action to get there. The kind of action that’s required for true success, which also involves some risks.

You can mitigate those risks any number of ways. You can stick to free traffic techniques. Build your own products or get some inexpensive PLR products or become an affiliate and sell other people’s products.

But, when you’re ready to go for the gold, there will be massive action required. And risk.

Here’s an example:

I was a speaker this past weekend at Keith Wellman’s and Gary Ambrose’s Gateway To Wealth seminar in Orlando, Florida. It was their first event and the room was packed. They were hoping for 100 people in the seats and wound up with closer to 150, in a time when I hear a lot of seasoned seminar pros complaining about how much harder it is to fill seminars these days than it ever was in the past.

So – how did Keith and Gary fill more seats for a first-time seminar than they were expecting? They gave them away. They required that attendees pay a $97 deposit, which would be returned to them once they showed them their plane ticket and room reservations at the event hotel. Then, they could pick up their $97 when they got to the seminar.

Not much risk there, (except, of course, the risk of renting space in a hotel and planning for x number of people before you know how many will actually show up).

But – Keith and Gary went one step beyond and took a big risk. They also offered affiliates who promoted the event $97 for each seat they “sold” – even though the attendees got their $97 back when they actually attended the event.

This definitely got a few people out there selling their “free” tickets, helping to fill the seats. And, to get those added seats, Keith and Gary actually paid each affiliate $97 for each seat sold!

This was gutsy, to say the least.

But it worked out to help pack the room. And, from the sales I saw being made by all the speakers, I can tell you safely Keith and Gary made out very well, making theirs a nice, profitable first-time event – almost unheard-of in the seminar industry!

Think about this. What can you do to push yourself beyond … to extend your risk a bit for added results?

Added bonuses? An extended guarantee? Come up with something that shows your prospects you’re willing to stick your next out and you’ll see sales soaring at a time when most everyone else is struggling to keep sales at an even keel.

Just eliminate the risk for prospects and they’ll still be there to buy. And there are hundreds of ways to eliminate all the risk from your buyers. So many I’m amazed whenever I see people not utilizing one or more of them to get more sales coming in.

Have you ever seen “double your money back” offers? These are definitely gutsy. But they also telegraph to the buyer that this thing is SO good the creator is willing to seriously back it up.

Double-your-money-back guarantees also rarely wind up costing much more than a normal guarantee. Even if they do, they also generally triple the response to any offer, over and above any additional sums the marketer has to wind up paying out for refunds.

Maybe it’s just putting that extra month into creating a perfect product, rather than shoving it out the door too soon, not fully tested and possibly incomplete.

Here you’re putting more time and energy on the line to make something you now know will sell so much better, because buyers will be so pleased they’ll spread the word for you. You also risk waiting longer before sales start coming in, in return for the knowledge that what you’ve created is good enough to stand the test of time and create a buzz all its own that’ll keep it selling longer and stronger than it ever would have had you rushed it to market.

Make a list of the “brave” things you can add to your marketing that will send that bold signal to prospects that you mean business. Make it fun. Eliminate their risk by taking it all on yourself.

This will make the money flow like you never thought possible, overcoming any economic “blips and burps” that might at first appear to be standing in your way.
