Video Squeeze Pages Done Right

When they are done correctly, video squeeze pages are the most powerful, sure-fire way to build a list online in the shortest time possible with or without money.

For the uninitiated, a squeeze page is any Website designed to provide visitors something in return for entering at least their name and email address onto a form, to build the Website owner’s list of prospects.

For many years, ezines, ebooks and ecourses have been popular squeeze page gift items. “Just enter your name and email here for one full year of my free weekly newsletter” still works today. I still use these offers on my squeeze pages all the time. This blog started out as a weekly ezine I would send to subscribers who signed up via email.

Now I post this newsletter on this blog and send an email to notify subscribers when the latest issue is online.

Unfortunately, the bar continues to go UP when it comes to collecting names on squeeze pages. The constant barrage of SPAM that hits everyone’s email boxes makes people more reluctant than ever to sign up for anything online. As marketers continue to pile on the free goodies to entice people to fill out their forms, we’re all faced with a phenomenon referred to in inner circles as “moving the free line.”

In short, this means you have to come up with increasingly bigger and bigger, more valuable things to give people free if you want to get them to give up their email addresses and names on traditional squeeze pages.

Enter the Video Squeeze page.

With a solid video squeeze page, you can literally capture names and email addresses without giving anything away free – unless you want to “sweeten the deal” and add bonuses.

The cool thing is – at least for now – this is entirely up to you.

Why?

Because a video squeeze page can be designed to play on the visitors’ natural curiosity. Set it up right and you can easily pique visitors’ interest and lead them to a natural conclusion – which is revealed in part 2 of your video on the “other side” without any additional “bribes” required at all.

Even better – video is so popular, it’s far easier these days to capture the attention of your prospects with video than with any other element you can place on the Web.

Unfortunately, video squeeze pages do take a bit more “doing” than the usual static offer-something-free squeeze pages we’re so familiar with now. Fortunately, we all get the tools to make excellent videos for the Web built right into our computers these days.

And it’s never been easier to put video on the Web!

So – all you really need to do is focus on a structure for your video. Treat it like a mystery story, where the answer (an offer you’re referring to, or a satisfying conclusion to a compelling story) is revealed in the second half, which is on a page visitors can only reach after they’ve filled out the opt-in form.

If you “tease” a bit, hinting at what will be revealed in the second half of the video during the first half of your squeeze page video, and following a “story line” that naturally leaves visitors hanging over a cliff, eager to see what happens next – you’ll get a gigantic conversion rate and more opt-ins for your effort than you ever could by simply giving away an ebook or special report or newsletter.

Once you have the “plot” of your video – the story line with a “cliff-hanger” to drive people to page 2 – you have the hard part out of the way. The rest of the task is simply shooting a video, editing it and getting it online.

Here are some tips for the video itself:

Be yourself – it’s the only way you can look truly natural
Interact with the camera – the camera is your audience
Get excited! If you’re not – why should your viewers be
Focus on the benefits the viewer will receive “on the other side”
Present your offer – in this case, satisfaction of their curiosity
Ask for action – tell them what to do: “hit the submit button,” “fill out the form” etc.
That’s it.

You can shoot your video with any digital camcorder or Webcam that creates decent video. On the Web, high-def video isn’t needed and, in many cases, it will actually reduce your results by making the movie load slower or not even play on some connections.

I talk some more about this on my latest Breakfast With Alan Internet TV show. You can watch the recording at http://www.BreakfastWithAlan.com. It auto-plays on the page when you land there – until next Wednesday, November 12, when I’ll be presenting a new live show.

The show also features a great in-depth interview with Internet marketing legend Mark Joyner and too much more to list here. You should definitely check it out for yourself and get in the habit of tuning in for each new show every other Wednesday.

The video squeeze page I show everyone during that show is now up and active at:

http://www.BBSPress.com/ht

You should check out this site. Watch the video. Then fill out the form to go to the “other side” and watch the rest of the video. See how many of the tips I’ve just given you in this article are put into play in this one video squeeze page.

Enter Invitation Code: 600000

Then type in your name and email address and hit “submit.”

Ask yourself: would this page make you give up your name and email address to find out more?

Then ask yourself how much time, energy and money it would take to put something like this together for yourself.

Follow the video through to page 2. Join me and my partner, Erik Stafford, and you can use this squeeze page plus lots of other tools we’re creating to build your list and make sales even to people who say “no” to the initial offer – and to your own products! And we won’t charge you one thin dime extra to use it.

I think you should join us fast while this offer is available.

See you next week!
