INTERNET MARKETING SECRETS
Affiliate Secret #5
It’s often been said that you shouldn’t use industry jargon and buzzwords on your web pages. I disagree. Go ahead and use them… if your target market also uses them.
For example, if I told you that “strippers RIP film for plates” you might not know that I’m talking about commercial printing. But they know you’re talking about them and that’s how they talk. (Even modest sized printers have a RIP that turns the computerized document into film.)
Speaking of film, did you know that a small commercial print shop will go though three to five rolls of film per week? A moderate sized printing plant will go through twice that much in a day.
At 150-300 bucks a pop, think about the commissions.
Same deal with the ink that goes into the press, or the paper it uses. Even the chemicals the janitor uses to clean the floor after the graveyard shift. Hmm,cleaning supplies… everyone needs ’em from printing plants, to hospitals, to schools, to cookie factories. Hmm….
Sometimes its better to get out of the mainstream noise. All the glamorous gift baskets, flowers and dating sites as an affiliate, and think of the volumes of consumables that get used by the manufacturing sector instead.
You can find these industrial markets by visiting trade association sites, looking in trade dictionaries, or from articles in newsletters, magazines and online sources. You’ll find all sorts of trade lingo and verbiage that you wouldn’t normally associate with keyword research.
One thing’s for sure. When you supply the manufacturers, there are huge markets with equally large commissions. I know, janitorial supply isn’t very glamorous, but you can certainly “clean up” in this kind of a market, because there’s few affiliates that think “outside the gift basket” and take advantage of these open waters.
Oh, speaking of waters… it’s time to swab the deck. Or celebrate, Ye swabbing thereof… because that cookie factory I mentioned, just placed another massive order for that “pink” floor cleaner I told them about. Smells like expensive bleach to me… but that’s not the buzz word
they call it. 😉
Hmm… I wonder what the navy uses to clean their ships? What about the cruise ship industry? Imagine what a commission that would be. 🙂
