Markets Must Already Exist

Never create a product and look for a market. Always do it the other way round.Look for an unmet need, want or desire, then source or create a product to satisfy it.

Everyone has desires like heath, wealth, security, vanity, and a hundred others.Markets happen when enough people have a private desire that it evolves into a public one. Things like saving the planet, exercising to stay young, reducing wrinkles and paying off the mortgage.

The markets already exist. You cannot create a market. If you try to create a market, its called educating the public.Let the public service announcements do that. It’s never profitable and wastes your time.

All you can do is tap the existing desire.Build upon it by agreeing with their pain or pleasure. Then channel their desire into a product that will sustain the insatiable hunger or satisfy the need.

It’s All About Persuasion

It really doesn’t matter if you’re trying to get hotel guests to recycle their towels, get a child to bed on time, or get someone to buy your ebooks, it’s all about persuasion.

You might tell me that you’re afraid of selling. Why should you be?

If you’ve ever persuaded someone to meet at a certain time, or to go to a different restaurant, or watch this movie instead of that one, you were selling. You were persuading the other person to take your desired course of action.

It’s no different on your website or blog. You want the visitor to take some sort of action. Maybe you do CPA offers and want them to fill out a form. Maybe you want them to subscribe to your newsletter, or make a donation.

It’s never too late to start reading. To create your personal library of marketing classics, proven advertising campaigns, and learn the science of persuasion.

Start your collection with; “Yes! 50 Scientifically Ways to Be Persuasive” by Robert Cialdini, “Tested Advertising Methods” by John Caples and the Wizard of Ads podcast series.

Better yet… get yourself down to the longest running internet marketing conference on the planet and submerge yourself in a learning environment, while making new friends. Just the networking alone is priceless.

Ken McCarthy’s System Seminar is just a few weeks away. What you’ll learn will change your mind, your outlook, the way you market yourself, and the way you do business online.

The ONLY System: http://www.cdzn.com/kms

The bottom line? Everything in life is negotiable. Life is all about persuasion. The better you get at it, the more you’ll earn in your lifetime.

Events Spark Massive Searches

After my interview with Christian Weselak (the PPC Ninja) and Colin McDougall, we spent another hour chatting about how to use PPC for affiliate marketing. One of the things that came up, was bidding on current events using PPC.

The PPC Ninja routinely bids on infomercial products. What about current events, or trade shows, or even television programs?

If you have a TV on your computer like eyeTV, and a subscription to TV Guide, you can see which movies are coming up and who the guests will be on the talk shows.

Both will create a flurry of searches for the names of the actors. You could bid on those names and send the traffic to an allposters.com page.

Same deal with CNN News or Google Trends. You can see at a glance the hottest searches on the internet right now. Many of them are movie stars. Bidding on their names, while they are hot, can be a very profitable idea.

Even monster trucks???

The other day I was downtown and wondered where all these dads and kids were coming from. Tens of thousands wafting out into the streets, carrying little pennants and dressed in green t-shirts.Turns out the monster truck rally & tractor pull just ended.

You can only imagine the flurry of searches the next day. Dads looking for posters and memorabilia to keep the love going. (Not to mention little Billy’s sudden fascination and desire for all things monster truck.)

The bottom line is to keep your eyes and ears open. Look for events that are upcoming or happening now. Then position your PPC ads for the flood of search leading up to, during and
immediately after the event. The PPC Ninja made a fortune doing just that.
