Shhh… Don’t Mention the “R” Word

Want to increase sales? Then here’s a tip from Roy Williams aka the Wizard of Ads.

Never remind people of the recession on a sales letter, or in your ad copy. It will backfire and
have a negative effect.

So I set up and experiment and ran some tests. I split tested two sales letters for an identical product using nearly identical copy.

Site A had a couple of paragraphs with language like; in these tough times, even in a recession,
profit during the economic downturn. On site B,I simply deleted the two paragraphs with the
recessionary language.

Roy was right. He usually is. Removing any mention of the recession brought conversion up over 2.3%.

Wasting Time in Motions

The fast food industry spends millions of dollars in studies so employees don’t waste time. The kitchens are designed to minimize the steps to complete each task and reduce wasting time in motions. Your daily tasks shouldn’t be any different.

Every time you switch gears to look after a different set of tasks, your mindset changes as well. The skill set to read email, pay the bills, or do a blog post are completely different. A lot of time gets wasted firing up the software, getting your brain and motor skills ready, and thinking about what you want to do or say.

So rather than check email every five minutes like a rat with pellet dispenser 😉 do this very simple thing instead… batch your tasks. Check email twice per day.Pay the bills twice per month. Check the postal mailbox once per week.

Batch whatever tasks you can, and you’ll save mountains of time in the long run. Your thoughts will be better. You’ll be more focused. And you’ll be more effective in all that you do.

PPC Ninja vs PPC Formula Throwdown

The past two weeks has brought nearly 100 questions, asking me to compare PPC Ninja and the PPC Formula.Which to choose. How to decide. So lets have a little friendly throw down to see who wins.

Let the battle begin!

I’ll start off by saying that both the Pay Per Click Ninja and the Pay Per Click Formula are good courses. Both go after CPA offers. And both authors “do very well” if you know what I mean. They just think differently in their approaches to marketing.

In this corner… The PPC Formula…

First the downside. This course is expensive at a grand.

This price point will definitely keep out the lazy people who buy courses and put them in the closet. It also keeps out the chumps who like to “pump and dump” each new thing, only to abandon it, when they don’t get instant results.

The Formula is produced by Gauher Chaudhry, a former accountant. So everything is logically laid out. It’s good for beginners as it shows everything in baby steps.

This course in a word… comprehensive. There are more than 100 videos, templates, examples, PDF files and more in the download area. It is the most complete course on PPC marketing that I have seen, right down to the spreadsheets.

Speaking of spreadsheets, sometimes on an CPA offer he doesn’t profit until the autoresponder followups. Then he really cleans up, because the average mom and pop doesn’t know it’s an autoresponder sequence, and they’ve never been exposed to them before.

So it helps to be good at numbers and left-brain thinking when following the Formula. If you are a logical type, this course is custom tailored for your mind set.

If you apply the Formula. And I do mean study it. Immerse yourself in it. And practice it daily.
Freedom to live the lifestyle you want, is not only attainable, it’s almost within your grasp.

And yes I make a commission if you buy it through me, but I’m willing to give you a big rebate. Tell you what, if you can proove that you bought the Formula through me, (you might want to clear your cookies first 😉 email me a your copy of your receipt, and I’ll give you a 20 minute consultation on the house.

You can use this 100 dollar value however you like. But I suggest that you wait until you’ve applied the materials in the course, and use your consultation for a website review, or more specifically a review of your sales and conversion process.

In this corner… The PPC Ninja

The PPC Ninja – Christian Weselak – is just a regular single guy who – like most bachelors – would rather be skiing than working. He works at PPC to CPA part time and makes more in a month than most people do in a year.

The downside is that there are no baby steps or beginner stuff. It’s like being strapped to the a top of a rocket and blasted into the PPC stratosphere.

So if you are going to follow Christian’s Ninja method, you’ll need to be familiar with the PPC basics and the ad networks. (Raw beginners can supplement the Ninja training – like how to write PPC ads – with Perry Marshall’s Definitive Guide to Google Adwords at (http://www.cdzn.com/pmg )

Now here’s is where it gets wacky. I coined Christian the PPC Ninja because he’s sneaky and stealthy in the way that he researches, executes, grabs the loot and gets out.

He spends a lot of time planning tactics, examining the competition, looking for a sweet spot, then exploiting it as long as he can. Usually he’s gone before the competition even knows he was there.

The Ninja doesn’t followup with email and auto responders like in the Formula method. He often
skips all the keyword and market research. He swings all his marketing the other way round.

He takes a new product and then looks for a market. He does this by hanging around the affiliate networks looking for new CPA offers, with no competitors, and no Google Quality Score concerns.

He then targets sites on the content network. Finds new keywords and split tests ads to sell the CPA offer. And once he finds something that works, he cranks the campaigns to the max. The Ninja is unique in this thinking.

Yes, I will get a commission if you buy it through me,but I have an exclusive. This link is the only place you can buy the Ninja course on the entire internet, because he hasn’t “officially” launched yet. (Skeptics can check his home page at payperclickninja.com.)

Get the PPC Ninja: http://www.cdzn.com/ppc

If you do buy it through me, send me a copy of your receipt and I’ll give you an hour long interview I did with Christian, after reading his entire course. It helps put everything in perspective and he reveals sneaky Ninja-like tactics that are not in the course.

So as you can see, either method will work. If you are new to PPC, or want comprehensive PPC training, then the Formula is the better choice. If you’re already experienced in PPC and want a highly unique method, then the Ninja is a better in my opinion.

So yes, I highly recommend and endorse both the “Formula” and the “Ninja.” Choose the method which best matches skill level and your personality…or heck, take em both if you like.

Remember, training is not an expense, it’s an investment in yourself and your future. You can also write off 100% of either course on your taxes.

Good luck with it, either way that you choose. Except that you won’t need much luck, so long as you immerse yourself in the courses and apply the training, it’s like Benjamin Franklin said, “An investment in yourself always pays the highest dividends.”

Or to quote a universal truth, “You reap what you sow.” But notice that you have to sow FIRST, in order to reap.
