I Was Just Reminded What An Internet Marketer ‘SHOULD’ Be Doing!

I just finished listening to my mentor Alex Jeffreys spend 2 hours plus reminding me (at least it felt like he was talking to me) and the other students, about what he has already taught me about internet marketing that I should be doing on a regular basis.

He reminded me that I need to have a PLAN, I need to TAKE ACTION on my plan, I need to remember to ASK for ADVICE on what I am doing, and I need to GET SUPPORT from my fellow students or others so that I don’t get bogged down on something that can be easily resolved.

Alex also pointed out that in order to get to the Planning Process you need to “zoom out” from your day to day business to get a better perspective. You need to set aside time without distractions so that you can focus. You should start this process with a “brain dump”. Just write down everything that comes to your mind that needs to be done. Once you know what needs to be done, you can then begin determining how you plan to do each phase of the your plan.

Once your plan is in place, you need to start taking action. You can start by creating content. Then direct your focus toward driving traffic and building a list so that you can start email marketing, which is where the money is. Along the way, be sure to ask for advice and get support whenever you have a question or start to get stuck.

The fact is, as Alex pointed out, that we are actually running an online business using the business model that Alex has taught us. It is important at this point to not confuse the “learning phase” with the “earning phase”. I am still in the learning phase, but part of the “learning phase” is to layout your plan for getting to the “earning phase”.

A couple of things that should help with this process, would be to first make a list of all the distractions that keep you away from your tasks. What is keeping you from accomplishing what you set out to accomplish? For example, if you’re trying to write a blog post or an article, having your email open on your desktop is probably a bad idea because it will distract you and suck up all of your writing time.

A second thing that will help, is keeping a journal of what you are doing. This can be daily or weekly, whatever will work for you. One important benefit of this journal will be that it will clearly shows your progress, so that if you start to feel like you aren’t moving forward, you can look back at where you were when you started writing that journal and quickly realize that you have, in fact, made progress.

So bottom line for me at this point, is to clean off my plate and get my next 90 day plan done.

It is time to “eat that frog”!
