Save Now on Future Travel
We’re on the cusp of entering the biggest travel season of the year. With millions of people about to set out on trips back home for family events during Thanksgiving and Christmas, this part of the calendar year can get rather expensive.
Whether you’ve got to haul yourself and your family from Miami to Seattle or from Buffalo to Boston, flying may be your best — and only — option to get back home to see your nearest
and dearest.
No matter how you want to cut it, flying is expensive. From airline prices to baggage fees, you’re likely going to have to dig a little deeper than you like to board an airplane. That being said, there are always ways to save.
The best way to save is to start looking for flights early and doing your best with comparison shopping. Call the airlines directly, use travel agents, and visit web sites like Kayak (www.kayak.com), Expedia (www.expedia.com), Travelocity (www.travelocity.com), Fare Compare (www.farecompare.com) or Hotwire (www.hotwire.com).
When I travel, I often use the above web sites to help me see the cheapest deals. They compare flights at the click of a button, while showing the cheapest times to fly. For example,
taking a connecting flight or flying out early in the morning or late at night will often result in big-time savings. It may not be quite as convenient, but is much easier on the wallet.
The web sites mentioned above are also a great deal because they send you e-mail updates when prices drop. They’ll give you some flexibility in terms of dates and times, so you’ll be
aware of the best way to save for your trip. Sometimes, new opportunities arise only days after you’ve first looked, so it’s good to start looking early. The more time you give yourself, the more deals you’ll likely be presented with.
If you’re planning on traveling this holiday season, start looking now. Don’t buy right away, because you often won’t get the best deal. Be patient and you’ll surely find some
savings. Sign up to be notified of deals and wait for the best one to come your way!
