How to Stand up to Any Info Marketing Challenge
If you think about the heroes you had when you were a child, you probably get some pretty fun memories.
Cowboys, policemen, and superheroes were all the rage and, often as an adult, you sometimes blush when you think about how much you looked to them as a hero or maybe even a role model. Why? Probably because they were larger than life — they knew exactly what to do when situations got tough and still managed to stand up for the right things even in the face of adversity, no matter how great it was.
As crazy as some of the roles these heroes played got, their basic life lessons were pretty good. You really do have to know what you must do in case of an adverse situation. As an entrepreneur and info marketer, you too have to be a sort of “quick draw.”
To know what exactly you’d do in tough situation is impossible. But you can get ready for a few that come up time and again. When things go wrong in info marketing, they are often alien issues and just interruptions to the routine or work. If you know them, you can deal with them in a quick-draw, professional style. Here are a few of the most common:
— Your materials aren’t what you want them to be: The old publishing nightmare lives here. You work hard to make your info products look just right by writing, editing, and designing everything to death. Then you finally go to make a print copy of your work or compress them to digital files. That’s when you see the borders not looking right or the content askew. It’s nuts. In this case, the only thing you have to do is bite the bullet and work to make everything look right again. Frustrating, I admit, but it does happen and clients don’t need to get sub-par info products. It’s best to fix these problems quickly. The sooner they are corrected, the sooner you can be done with them.
— Your newsletters don’t get delivered: You’d think in this day and age of everything being done over wires that the wires and databases would serve people problem-free. They are pretty darn good, but, like everything else, they aren’t perfect. As an info marketer, you are likely in the business of sending out information to your clients on a regular basis, and you’re likely doing it with the modern facility of e-mail send-outs. E-mail is pretty great — no cost for stamps, environmentally friendly, and fast. Of course, if you’re using a listing system and/or electronic newsletter builder, those mechanisms are known to not get out in good time or can even get your material lost in cyberspace. If this happens to you, don’t panic. This is a common occurrence and it will likely happen again. But you should quickly get on your own e-mail and send out an apology for delays to your clients. From there, work to remove all the glitches from your newsletter sending services.
— You have banking problems: When it comes to money, any number of things can happen, and most of them are bad. Whether you are giving or receiving the green, you have to be on guard for when this happens. I have had this happen once or twice and have learned that, come what may, always keep your bank or electronic money source’s number handy for the minute you have a money issue related to your business. Even if you have to be put on hold for a while or have to speak to a top authority, it’s your job to resolve money issues as fast as possible.
— Your clients are complaining: This is the biggest and arguably the most important situation. Matters are going to arise out of the blue where a client finds something they do not like in your work or are issued a service/product by you that is not to their liking. Whether you intended for this to happen or not is not important. What is important is that you work to fix it. Even if the client is in a rage, let them talk and explain the problem they have with your business’ services. From there, work to find a solution as efficiently and quickly as possible. This fast, professional demeanor as exhibited by you really shows just what kind of hard worker you really are and how much you really care about your reputation, your business and satisfying your clients. If you’ve wanted to be like the quick drawing superheroes you loved as a kid, this could be your opportunity.
Sudden problems require even faster solutions. It’s that simple. It would be nice if problems were nonexistent, but we all know that they always come back. With that foreknowledge, an info marketer can work to become a quick draw on the toughest of problems. Cowboys seemed great in books and movies, but quick info marketers can be the heroes in real life.
