Using Online Social Networks to Generate More Info Marketing Success

These days, people can keep in touch with folks who they previously couldn’t and get back in touch with people they’ve lost touch with over time using social networks. These are pretty incredible networks.

They can also be used for business.

A lot of people in entrepreneurial business, information marketing or otherwise, often go for broke when marketing their businesses. They hire out people to help them get the necessary exposure for promotion. That’s fine and it truly has its benefits in the long run. But these same people often overlook the value of social networking web sites and programs that can be just as helpful in drawing in clients. For information marketers, there’s no real reason not to get in on this. Having a social network page to advertise your information products is a fun and very, very cheap way to give your business’ promotion a little boost.

If you’ve already set up a personal social networking page, setting up a page for your business is more or less the same to get going with. When you find the social networks you want to use — Facebook, Twitter, etc. — you should register your business with its professional name. Most of these social networks have a marketplace-type page to put your business onto. This is the best place to start.

From there, check all the options you have within that particular network. Be sure to register your products, provide short but accurate descriptions of each one, post your contact info, and even provide some short biographical information about yourself and your business. A lot of people are in the dark about what an information marketer actually does, so these little captions will go a long way to get them educated
and get them interested as well.

Even with social network marketing, you should also consider keywords and search engine optimization (SEO). If you’ve had any experience with this or know of someone who has, get some good SEO actions going. This is a recommendation I got from a stay-at-home mom who uses her social networks for marketing her home beauty/domestic products. Her business was in a slump until her husband’s friend did some SEO magic
on it and she acquired some new clients. Her lesson was a good one — you never know what people are going to search out on the ‘Net, either in general searches or in the search engines of social networks. If they type in words related to your business, you’re going to want to come out on the top of their results listings. A little SEO help can put you right there.

From there, you have to get connected. If the network gives you the option to send out requests to friends and colleagues, take this option. Make sure everyone you know gets an invite to get connected to your site. In time, your business could get connected to new clients, thanks to friends of friends of other friends. Again, you never know how two parties are going to come together online. Connections can spread like wildfire, but
only if you take the time to initiate that fire.

Finally, don’t let your social networking site or page linger. Update it regularly, promote new products, and keep in touch with clients who make postings. A lot of times info marketers don’t do this or don’t treat these networks like their own web sites. This can have consequences to your business, so block aside some time to keep your social network page going strong. It’ll work as hard as you do.

Mixing business with pleasure is often impossible in some realms of information marketing. But using online social networks almost demands you do that. You can really push your business to new heights while keeping close with folks just like yourself. Really, how great is that?
