Creating Your Own Successful Info Marketing Media Programs

There are those who learn with others and those who learn alone. Which one are you?

Some folks get signed up for classes and work hard within the walls of the institution. Others are more autodidactic about it and work hard to teach themselves whatever they need to know. Either way, people go the distance to get the information they need to make themselves smarter and better their lives.

As an information marketer, both situations apply to you. People look to you for information in order to enrich their lives. You are their teacher, their authority, their source. Furthermore, you can really work to create new programs to bring that information to their brains in different, creative ways. A new media program is a great way to deliver exactly this.

Obviously, as an information marketer, you are delivering information almost every day. But what a lot of marketers forget is that this usual route of info marketers is the written word. There’s nothing wrong with this, except that some people aren’t acclimatized to words. Their brain works differently and they learn by images, demonstration, listening, and other methods. With this in mind, you can cater to these learning methods by creating info products that use different media. You can deliver your information in all sorts of ways and it’s worth investigating new media information products for this delivery.

There are a few ways to go about creating new media info products. The method worth following is much like designing a regular print or online content info product. First off, you have to pinpoint a media source you’d like to utilize. The common choice for a lot of folks these days is online video. This is a great option and very practical. But don’t rule out sound bites/recordings, slide presentations, or even animation presentations. These can be fun to create and a great way to deliver information in a new way.

Once you’ve decided on a media format, you have to go through the method of designing your new media project. This is the rigorous part — you’ve got to be a bit of an architect and lay all of your ideas out. It’s not such a different job as doing your regular information products, except you have to think in terms of images, pictures, and even actors. If you’re doing a video, you may want to create a scenario for actors to act out. This will involve script writing, editing cuts, and even some jokes. If it’s an animation, you’re going to have to get not only some drawings down, but likely some digital images on an animation program as well. If it’s a sound bite, you’re going to have to have a dialogue written from start to finish spoken by someone with a good voice. Whatever the case, and especially if it’s your first new project, plan it to a tee. Even if it means writing directions or doing up a number of drawings, get everything together. There’s no such thing as too much planning with new media info products.

The planning phase brings on figuring out how you are going to execute your new media product creation. Sadly, this often isn’t as easy as doing up your information content where you can just hammer out the words on a processing program. You might have a lot of savvy in the creative department and can get the right computer program to do it on your own computer or laptop. If this is the case for you, fantastic. Do it. Most media programs — sound recording, graphic design, video recording and editing — can be purchased from a retailer and even downloaded off the Internet. Now, if you’re a bit confused by new media programs and how to use them, don’t worry. There’s loads of information in libraries and online about acquiring new media, learning how to use it at home, etc. In the worst-case scenario, flag down some help. Search out a pro who knows a lot about it and see if they can help you out in the creation of your product. Offer some compensation to them for helping you — a payment, some promotion through your own business, or both. But be sure to be firm as to how you want it to look. Remember this is your product. You have to make it the way you know will suit your existing and potential client base.

Once you’ve launched the new media product, keep a very close eye on it. See how it goes over with clients. If it was successful, get some feedback from clients to see if they’d like more of the same. This will show you how to go about doing this sort of project again. If it wasn’t successful, don’t stress. Go over it a second time and see what you can do to improve it. If you’ve got a good idea, it’s not worth trashing. Anything you love doing is worth revisiting.

New media is as accessible as it has ever been. Anyone can get it on it and exercise those creative juices that lay within them. Information marketers are at an even greater advantage with new media. They can create fun, interesting products and gain success from them as well. Get creative with your ideas and grab new media for some new info marketing products.
