When do You Pay Yourself?

Trahd says, “I was talking with my sister the other day and she reminded me that our mother used to tell us – always told us – that we should pay ourselves first before paying the bills.

She was all about saving for the future. And that mindset did her well through her retirement and after my father died. She also believed that women should have their own little savings account for a “just in case day” when their husband may decide that another wife was what he wanted”.
