Bill Myers Tip of the Week – July 16, 2011

===============================================================

In our office, we have an invisible phone that handles all our business related calls.

This phone has a built in answering machine, records voice mails, has an automatic spam filter to block robo calls, can automatically convert voice messages to text and forward them to us via email, and can forward calls to any or all our other phone numbers when we are out of the office.

Setting up our invisible phone system was easy.  We first searched through a list of available numbers from our choice of area codes until we found a phone number we liked.

Then, after choosing the phone number we wanted, we spent about five minutes setting everything up – using our computer and the internet.

We’ve been using our invisible phone system to handle all calls to our offices for almost two years now, and it has worked flawlessly.

You might think setting up something like this would be expensive.  But it’s not.

In fact, it costs nothing to set up, and there’s no monthly bill.

The phone number and all the features are free.  No strings attached.

So how did we do it?

We used Google Voice.

Not Google Chat or Google talk.

Google Voice.

With Google Voice, you get your own phone number and all the features mentioned above, and you use it to make and receive
calls to and from anywhere in the world.

Like I said, it’s free to set up and use, and works just like a regular phone system except it has many more features.

To learn more about Google Voice, and to create your own ‘ invisible’ phone system, check out  http://www.google.com/googlevoice/about.html#

Having your own invisible phone service can save you a lot of money in monthly phone bills, while helping your business operate more efficiently.
