Ben Shaffer has created a tool that online marketers will find attractive, Buyers Keyword Tool.

It does keyword research that really matters. When people are just browsing they search for vague, loosely defined keywords. When they have made up their mind about what they want, they tend to search for specific, targeted keywords. It is those “buyer keywords” that marketers should focus on, because attracting these buyers will lead to more sales. Especially, if you are paying for clicks, there’s no point for paying for anything other than a keyword that a buyer would use.

There’s a nice free source of buyer keywords, Amazon. People go there when they are ready to buy something. So, when you do a search there, and it offers you suggested keywords for your search, they are mostly keywords that buyers have inserted in their search tool. Shaffer’s new Buyers Keyword Tool harvests the keywords for your niche and gives you the list in just a few seconds. Just type in the general subject keyword, and it will return a full list of keywords which start with your original keyword phrase.

There are two versions of this script, standard (currently, $7.90, but rising)and pro (currently, $12.60, but rising):
• The standard searches in all departments by default.
• The pro version has more options.
   You can choose which department to search so that you can get results returned only for a particular kind of product.

   It supports 9 Amazon country stores
   You can go several levels deep. It finds keywords starting with your term, and then it finds keywords starting with those resulting terms.

With this research, you can get targeted keyword that real buyers are searching for. So your Amazon affiliate store (or any of your websites) can be prepared to welcome these buyers and give them the information they need so they will buy from you.
