There are many sites dedicated to indexing the internet, That is, they build giant lists of information about other sites. Indexing is part of what Google does, for example. But there are many other sites that build and manage indexes of the web. Some specialize in a particular niche, such as a medical site index or a sports site index. Others gather specialized information about sites across the whole internet. An example of the latter is whois.domaintools.com, which collects site ownership information (current information and historical information. Alexa is another well-known indexer of specialized site information.

If your site is listed in these index sites, it does two things:
First, people use these index sites to find interesting sites in the niche they are interested in.
Second, a listing in an index counts as a vote of confidence that Google and Bing notice when they are building search rankings.

Of course, finding these index sites and making sure your site is included can be tedious and time-consuming. But now there is software that can automate this process.

Multi-Site Indexer was just announced. This software comes with a list of 6000 index sites (and if you know of any others you want, you can add them to the list.) It will add your site’s information to these indexes.

It works automatically. You just tell it the site to promote and how many index sites to visit, and it does the rest.

You can submit several of your sites at the same time, if you choose, and it will handle them all.

It runs on your PC; and it runs without your help once you kick it off. Just let it run in the background while you go about your usual business.

Index sites aren’t the best places to get backlinks from, but they are good places. And now these good backlinks are easy to get.
