‘Quit Cloning Content: Battling Crap Content Through Form’ – HubSpot
The latest article on HubSpot blog is titled “Quit Cloning Content: Battling Crap Content Through Form”.
Anum Hussain says, “When I look back on 2013, I think of it as the year the concept of “content marketing” skyrocketed. Just take a look at a Google Trends report and you’ll see the interest over time escalate drastically over the past two years.
But the high spike in content marketing interest has, in some cases, led to content clutter, content deluge, and, essentially, content crap.
I believe one of the core reasons for this has been because there aren’t enough conversations around which formats your content assets should be presented in.
From my own experience, I’ve engaged in plenty of conversations around what content topics to cover — and many of them end with something like, “That’s not really appropriate for an ebook, it’d be better as a blog post.” Or, “That would be better consumed in a SlideShare than a video.””.
