According to an Animoto research, 81% of marketers are optimizing their social videos for mobile web and 39% are creating square and vertical videos.

The Animoto study involved 1000 consumers and 500 marketers.

Here are the findings:

  • 64% consumers said that watching marketing videos on Facebook influenced their purchase decisions
  • In February 2017, Facebook received 1.74 mobile monthly active users
  • 39% of consumers are more likely to watch complete videos – if they have subtitles
  • 67% marketers use text over imagery
  • 51% of the use closed captions.
