Optimize for voice search with these strategies
In 2016, 20% of mobile queries on Google were voice searches. By the end of this year the number would have almost doubled since the number of mobile devices have rose everywhere.
Busienss.com columnist Tom La Vechhia has shared three ways for marketers to optimize for the voice search.
Vechhia says, “Here are three ways to optimize your website for voice search now.
1. Adopt long-tail keywords.
When creating your web content, you must optimize for long-tail keywords vs. three-word keywords. Though you might write “best pizza in town,” with voice search, you may say, “What is the best-rated pizza in Fanwood, New Jersey?” Because voice queries tend to be longer, you need to optimize using long-tail keywords and content so that you come up in both traditional and voice search. A long-tail keyword includes at least a sentence with five words or more.
Actionable step: Examine your current keywords using online tools such as SEMrush or Ahrefs, then work to develop long-tail keywords in the copy, meta descriptions and titles”.
