Econsultancy contributors Ben Davis & Nikki Gilliland have published two articles featuring expert predictions about Ecommerce in 2022 and social media marketing in 2022.

Talking about Ecommerce in 2022, Davis says, “Whilst the rest of 2021 might not have seen ecommerce adoption hit the heights of January of that year (nearly 38% of total retail sales in the UK), comparisons to 2019 still show how things have changed. Holiday shopping now looks to be roughly 30%+ online, compared to c. 21% pre-pandemic.

So, looking in the crystal ball for 2022, from personalisation to sustainability, omnichannel to cross-border, we’ve collected some ecommerce trends from various data, martech and retail experts.”

Giving a clue about the social media marketing in 2022, Gilliland says, “From Facebook rebranding as Meta, to TikTok reaching one billion monthly users – 2021 was a mammoth year in the world of social media.

But how will social evolve in 2022? We spoke to industry experts to get some insight on what the next year could bring, with social commerce, the changing roles of influencers, and the continued domination of TikTok all predicted to emerge.”
